So what did I learn by doing this?
1. I learned that there is a big difference between "Oh, I could use a bite" and "Good heaven's I'm hungry!" I need to be much more cognizant of when I put food in my mouth when it's merely "Oh, I could use a bite."
2. It takes a lot less food to truly satiate me then I thought. Once thing that came out of this is that I will be making myself wait 10 minutes before I get seconds. Typically if I wait, I find I'm not really hungry, so why eat. But I can certainly shovel it in, if I don't wait!
3. The shakes help me reset my hunger singles. If I eat too much, my body gets used to it, and tends to want more. Shakeology fills me and stays with me very well, but forces me to really pay attention to myself. If I am limited to 3 or 4 shakes from 6AM through 7PM - I have to be careful when I drink them or else, I'll want to eat my desk. So, it gives me a chance to really understand when I'm hungry and when I'm "peckish".
All in all, I'm very satisfied with my results. Today will be a day of extremely clean eating with more calories, to keep my body guessing. I'll stay around 1800 calories, which is in the weight loss range for me, but is more than I've been eating for the past few days. I'll go back down tomorrow. :)
If you are interested in Shakeology for a 3-day reset of your own, let me know. You can also use other things, but watch the nutrients and the protein. You want to make sure you're getting what your body needs.
Happy Thursday all!
